Calvin Murphy
Kevin Murphy played college basketball at Tennessee Tech, where he played all 4 years. In his senior season he averaged 20.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, including a career-high 50-point game. He was drafted by the Jazz in the second round, and later ended up playing all over the world.
He made an immediate impact in the BIG3 after being taken with the 7th overall pick in the Superdraft. In the 2021 season, he averaged 20.4 points per game for the Three-Headed Monsters, which was the fourth-best mark in the league. Consequently, he took home the BIG3 Rookie of the Year trophy.
He built on that success in 2022. He led the league in scoring and led 3HM to the best regular-season record in the league, and was rewarded with the BIG3 MVP Award.
Calvin Murphy is a Basketball Hall of Famer and Houston Rockets legend who built a remarkable NBA career despite standing just 5-foot-9. Drafted 18th overall out of Niagara University in 1970, Murphy spent his entire 13-year NBA career with the San Diego/Houston Rockets, earning an NBA All-Star selection and becoming one of the franchise’s all-time great scorers and playmakers.
Known for his toughness, quickness, and elite free-throw shooting, Murphy was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993. He is now entering his second season as a coach in the BIG3, continuing to share his basketball knowledge and leadership with the next generation of players.

Jonathon simmons
Jonathon Simmons went undrafted out of the University of Houston before carving out an inspiring NBA career through determination and hard work. Known for his athleticism, perimeter defense, and relentless energy, Simmons earned his opportunity with the San Antonio Spurs and later played for the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, and Washington Wizards. His journey from the G League to becoming a key NBA contributor made him one of basketball’s notable underdog success stories.
After Simmons’ NBA career came to an end, he spent two successful seasons in China. While playing for Loongs of CBA China in the 2021-22 seasons, Simmons averaged an impressive 17.6 points per game on 49.4% shooting from the floor in just 18.1 minutes per game.
isaiah austin
Isaiah Austin was the first overall pick in the 2019 BIG3 SuperDraft. Considering he has the skills and shooting ability of a guard in a 7’1 body, it’s not difficult to see why. Austin played two seasons of college basketball at Baylor. In his sophomore season he averaged 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game, which earned him Big12 All-Defensive Team honors.
Austin was considered a first-round NBA Draft prospect, but he was diagnosed with a mild form of Marfan syndrome which kept him out of basketball for 2 years. In 2016 he was cleared to play basketball again. He restarted his basketball journey overseas, with his first stop being in Serbia. In the Chinese NBL Austin averaged 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game.

Nope, that’s not a coincidence – Adam Drexler is in fact the son of BIG3 Commissioner Clyde Drexler. While he might not quite be able to get off the ground like Clyde the Glide could, he’s more than capable of playing above the rim.

Vance Jackson joined the Rig Hands in Week 3, making his BIG3 debut in a Rig Hands loss against the DMV Trilogy. Known for his 3-point shooting, Jackson has made an immediate impact, helping the Rig Hands get two wins under their belt.
Hailing from Pasadena, CA., Jackson developed his skills at East Carolina University, University of Arkansas, University of Connecticut, and University of New Mexico. Jackson joins the Rig Hands most recently from the NBA G League, where he has played for the San Diego Clippers, Raptors 905, and Maine Celtics. Jackson has also played in the USBL, TBT, and internationally in Mexico, New Zealand, and Taiwan.
