Who are the Houston Rig Hands? 

The Houston Rig Hands are H-town’s home team for 3-on-3 hoops. Established in 2025, the Rig Hands play in the BIG3: the global 3-on-3 basketball league founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. 

Who plays for the Houston Rig Hands?

The Rig Hands roster changes every year, per BIG3 league rules. This year’s team is helmed by Rocket’s Legend Calvin Murphy, and features Jonathon Simmons, Kevin Murphy, Isaiah Austin, Adam Drexler, and Vance Jackson. For more information about this year's team, click here.

Who owns the Houston Rig Hands?

The team is owned by native Houstonians and energy executives Eric Mullins and Milton Carroll. Mullins is a former Houston Oiler, and Carroll holds a minority stake in the Houston Astros. 

How can I watch the Rig Hands? 

The Rig Hands play 10-15 1-hour games each summer, depending on the BIG3 league schedule. This season, Rig Hands games will air on CBS, Fubo, and Youtube. The full schedule can be found here. Each year, the Rig Hands will play two home games at Toyota Center. This summer, the Rig Hands home games are on July 26 and August 6. Tickets are available at big3.com/tickets. 

What can fans expect from the Rig Hands? 

Rig Hands fans can expect to see four, one-hour 3-on-3 basketball games – featuring their Houston team as well as other BIG3 players and coaches such as Dr. J, Dwight Howard, and Gary Payton. But a Houston Rig Hands home game is about more than just basketball. Fans can expect entertainment from the hottest artists, and maybe even league co-founder Ice Cube himself.
